Bishop Amos tells confirmandi to be Jesus’ advocates in the world

Bishop Martin Amos, former auxiliary bishop of the diocese and retired Bishop of Davenport, celebrated the sacrament of Confirmation.  During his homily, Bishop Amos drew a similarity to commercials and advertisers that continue to promote their products and the need for those gathered to be Christ’s promoter in the world.

Father Bill concelebrated the Tuesday night Mass where 31 candidates were confirmed.  Prior to the Mass, candidates presented Bishop with a spiritual bouquet. Following the Mass, Bishop remained in the sanctuary to take pictures with the confirmandi, family and friends.  A small cupake reception was held in Utopia Hall as well.
