Corpus Christi procession shows the importance of the Eucharist

Following the 11am Mass on the Feast of Corpus Christi, many of the faithful processed around the streets adjacent to the parish following a monstrance holding the Eucharist.  As parishioners followed the process, they sang hymns and were blessed at periodic stops along the route.  During his homily, Fr. Bill stressed the importance of this public procession to show how much we love and respect the gift that is the Eucharist.  While many traditions have communion, it is the Catholic tradition that teaches and believes that the Eucharist is the body and blood of Christ, not just a representation or symbol.

Following the short procession, parishioners filed back into the church where benediction concluded the devotion.
