The parish held its annual May Crowning, a special devotion to honor Mary, on May 17. The evening began with the recitation of the rosary followed by a Mass and crowning.
During his homily, Fr. Bill reminded the 2nd graders present, that Mary shared in their joy when they received their First Communion earlier in the month. In addition, Father reflected upon Mary’s role to intercede to Jesus on the faithful’s behalf likening it to going to your mother when you want to ask your father for something.
Following the Mass, a statue of Mary was processed through the church. Parishioners presented their flowers at the Marian altar on the west side of the sanctuary.
