School staff taking shape - parish looking for donors to support families in need

The following article was part of Father Mike's weekly column for Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021:

We continue to make miracles happen over at the school. The new principal and new teachers are getting into place. We are pleased to note that we have hired for all the open positions in our homerooms and for physical education. We are looking to round out the art, computer, and music instructors soon.

The updates to the rooms, the hallways, and the roof are close to being complete (and ahead of schedule). These are only a few of the “miracles” happening as we move through this transition period. BUT, now it is time to get back to the other miracles that we as the St. Thomas More Parish & School will continue, which is helping those in need.

There were a few “Guardian Angels” who stepped forward and asked about helping a student or two, whose family could not afford the full tuition amount. When we talked on the sidewalk after Mass, I asked that you see me again in the fall or closer to the school year. If in your kindness, you can please see me or call the rectory to leave your contact information, PLEASE do so soon. We do have a number of children who need our help. The COVID-19 changes to the new normal have left the financial support weaker than we expected, so we will need to talk more about helping our school children and their families. The best way is that you call the rectory, and I will be the one to call you directly to talk further about these needs of the children. Thank you so very much in advance.
