#weGiveCatholic hopes to raise $40K for Utopia Hall updates

Generosity begets more generosity. Last year, the parish set a goal of $20K for #weGiveCatholic. At the end of the day, over $40K had been collected. The campaign began with what Father Mike would call “building for our future.” Through diocesan grants, the 75th anniversary maintenance boost campaign and parishioners remembering the parish in their estate planning, the parish was able to complete a wide variety of repairs, updates, and improvements to the parish’s buildings and grounds.

This year, the parish’s #weGiveCatholic project target is Utopia Hall with a goal of $40K.

Completed in 1978, Utopia Hall was built to meet the growing social needs of the parish. While some minor updates have been completed over the years, the hall is relatively unchanged since its opening.

The hall is the main gathering space for larger groups and parish meetings. In addition, it is also available for rental for baby and wedding showers, graduations parties, and more. As life is inching back to normal, those interested in renting the hall can contact the rectory.

#weGiveCatholic is meant to launch the start to repair and improve the hall’s amenities hopefully including new floors in the bathrooms and kitchen, new bathroom sinks and countertops, new bathroom stall dividers and kitchen cabinets and counters.

On Tuesday, Nov. 30, consider giving to #weGiveCatholic. Set a reminder on your smartphone, pencil it into your calendar and remind your friends and family to support St. Thomas More. Access the secure #weGiveCatholic website – wegivecatholic.org! Not a fan of online giving? You can submit a check to the rectory prior to #GivingTuesday. The parish staff will add it to the day’s totals.

Thank you in advance for your continued generosity. Hope you can join in on fun of #weGiveCatholic by supporting St. Thomas More.
