School ready to celebrate Catholic Schools Week

The following article from Mrs. Nicole Dykstra was included in the bulletin for Jan. 30, 2022.

Hello St. Thomas More Families!

Hope you are all staying nice and warm during these cold winter days. I truly cannot believe how quickly this year has blown by as our eighth graders have just completed and submitted their high school applications. In a matter of months, these scholars will take the next big step as they transition from middle school to high school and take all of the skills and knowledge that has been invested with them.

On an academic note, we are just wrapping up our winter NWEA assessments and are eagerly excited to see the amazing progress that our scholars have made since the beginning of the year. As for the social aspect, Catholic Schools Week is this week and we CANNOT wait to celebrate with our scholars, families and community. So many fun things are on the horizon at STM! Staff members will join together at the 11am Mass on Sunday, January 30th, followed by an Open House at the school from 12-2pm.

Hope you can join us on Sunday as we kick-start Catholic Schools Week!

Mrs. Dykstra

National Catholic Schools Week (CSW) is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. Now entering its 48th anniversary year, CSW has traditionally been held the last week in January. Schools typically observe the week with Masses, assemblies and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members to celebrate. This year’s theme is Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.
