On Dec. 31, 2022, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI died at the age of 95. His funeral was celebrated by Pope Francis today, Jan. 5, 2023, with tens of thousands of mourners in Saint Peter's Square and countless watching around the world. In addition, Bishop Martin Amos (Cleveland native and retired Bishop of Davenport) celebrated Mass in the cathedral on Jan 5. Finally, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops have released a special novena in memory of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.
