From the corner office for Feb. 5, 2023

From the corner office is Father Mike's weekly bulletin column.

The Fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time has us continuing on our journey. That might be a good way of linking last week’s message of The Beatitudes in the Gospel of Matthew to this week’s First Reading from the Book of the Prophet Isaiah. Re-read again that passage and see how it gives us the directives on how to live by serving others – by being that light to others… St. Paul continues to tell the Church of Corinth of the mystery of Christ crucified. Even Jesus continues in the gospel passage from the Gospel of Matthew, to tell us how best to live. Be that salt that has not lost its taste and light to the world. We need to shine and be there for others as instruments of God.

Fr. Mike

From the Pastor’s Desk:

Catholic Schools Week was celebrated this past week around the Diocese of Cleveland and beyond. The Bishop rolled out a new initiative for the future of the Catholic Schools within the Diocese. There will be more coming into the light for his future vision. The week was broken down into celebrating the students, the teachers and staff, the parents and grandparents, and (I like to include…) the benefactors of Catholic schools. This week we need to stop and thank all those who made possible and help make possible the future of Catholic schools. Good or bad, we all have to take time to thank each other for the help and support that is given to the system. As a parish, simply put, we are truly totally behind our School of St. Thomas More and celebrate all that the School of St. Thomas More is for all of us, and beyond.

Thank you all – past, present, and well into the future for your help to St. Thomas More Schoola
