From the corner office for May 21, 2023

From the Corner Office is Father Mike’s weekly bulletin column.

“Christ is risen!” “He is risen, indeed. Alleluia!” … AND NOW, he’s returning to God in Heaven… Go figure! We have enjoyed the stories of the early Church in the passages from the Acts of the Apostles. We have moved through the highlights of the ministry of Jesus in the Gospel of St. John. Now we continue with those stories in the First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles, and even in the Letter to the Ephesians, but now we are hearing of the transition to having the Holy Spirit with us. The Advocate is here with us and we continue to live in the spirit of Christ. The Gospel of Matthew has Jesus directing the early Apostles and disciples to “Go…” this is a simple command, yet we can make it so very complex. This week is the start of the missioning of the early Church, and this should be the missioning of all of us – into the world…Now, Go!

From the Pastor’s Desk:

It seems like the spring sports season just started and now we are looking towards the season being complete and the acknowledgement of all the student-athletes. The eight grade girls’ volleyball team faced some really stiff challenges, and made it into the championship which was really nice. There were a few challenges, but we need to thank all of the volunteers, coaches, and parents who helped to get this spring season off and running. The student athletes all did well, and I am assuming had fun. Please stay tuned for the activities, fundraisers, and planning for the fall sports season. Thank you to all!
