From the Corner Office is Father Mike’s weekly bulletin column.
This week we celebrate the Solemnity of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. The everlasting gift of Jesus continually being with us, and (think about it…) in us. Last week we talked about our relationship with the Holy Trinity. This week, we celebrate the portion of that relationship with Jesus as he told us that he would be with us ALWAYS until the end of the age.
The First Reading from the Book of Deuteronomy has Moses reminding the Israelites that God did more than simply provide food through their journey, but also the freedom from slavery, the escape from the army, the guidance, and so much more… The Psalm is a simple response of praise that leads us into the Second Reading in which St. Paul tells us of being one body, “…for we all partake of the one loaf.” St. John then has Jesus telling us of being the “living bread” and being in us as we eat this bread. The confusion existed all the way back when Jesus made these statements and even now – but we need this relationship with Jesus and the faith to say, Amen! (I believe!) when presented with the Body & Blood of Christ!

From the Pastor’s Desk:
So, can you now believe that we are almost halfway through the month of June? The “worker bees” are all abuzz with all the Summer of Fun 2023! activities and set-up. They have been putting a lot of hard work and time into these events. The planning all started back in January, and it is interesting to see it all coming together. Thank you for the volunteers, the Parish Pastoral Council leaders and also – all those people coming together too simply … have fun!
