From the Corner Office is Father Mike’s weekly bulletin column.
Called to be goats or sheep, and to the left or the right? This being the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe brings our year to the end. The readings from the Gospel of Matthew and the Prophet Ezekiel use the sheep analogy, as does the Responsorial Psalm. The Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians tells us how Jesus will hand over the kingdom to God. All these passages speak of separation and the final coming of the kingdom – God’s kingdom. So we can get back to our question of being called to the left or the right, and to be goats or sheep. But let’s keep it simple and realize that we are called to be Christ to others. Imitate Christ and the Saints, and we won’t need to worry about any of those questions…

From the Pastor’s Desk:
The coming Tuesday, November 28th will be the day of giving with the #WeGiveCatholic event. This 24-hour period has turned into our biggest fundraiser for the year, and this year we are being as bold. The goal that we have is $65,000 and it will be used to help fund our “Outside Family Center” (ie. Playground and picnic area…) I know that this will be a huge request and that many people will be questioning it – but we won’t know unless we ask. We also won’t be able to work towards such a great gift to the parish and community, unless we do all of this together. There are multiple ways to help with your donation, either online, by phone, or by dropping off a check to the parish. There will be prizes with different perks through-out the day.
This will be a gift for all of us to share.
Sooo, let us all help together as St. Thomas More!
