From the corner office for Feb. 4, 2024

From the Corner Office is Father Mike's weekly bulletin column.

The readings move through the times of hopelessness into seeing Jesus as the Divine Healer. The story of Job is one we know, and probably able to relate to when we are looking at our challenging time. The Responsorial Psalm praises the Lord for his healing power, which St. Paul tells us to share with others. It is in the passage of St. Mark where Jesus is healing Peter’s mother-in-law. Having hope and faith that things will get better is often a challenge for us all. Letting Jesus heal our hurts is something that we need to let happen so we can deepen our relationship with God and others!

From the Pastor’s Desk:

“Thank you!” is the phrase of the week… The heat exchange shaft and bearings are in the process of being replaced. The main shaft needed to be cut-out, and custom milled given the age of the equipment. So, back to the “Thank You” phrase… Obviously the workers are doing their best for the repairs, and at least we are pointed in the correct direction. The other great usage of the phrase is for the Mr. & Mrs. Anonymous and the Unknowns who have dropped off envelopes to help towards the repairs. The office staff and I have all been humbled by these donations, which are all going towards the heat repairs. We’ll be keeping you posted, or you’ll feel the difference!
