From the corner office for April 7, 2024

From the Corner Office is Father Mike's weekly bulletin column.

“CHRIST is risen!” … “Indeed He is risen!”

“Peace be with you.” The first word of the Risen Jesus Christ as he entered into the room of the disciples – yes, despite the locked doors! All this week, the readings have concentrated on the early disciples and Apostles “recognizing Jesus”. Today, even Thomas is said to be in need of “…see the mark of the nails…and put my finger into…” Later that week, Jesus reappears (again with the greeting of “Peace be with you”) to the group so that Thomas can place his finger in the wounds. What are we looking for to see and believe in the presence of Jesus? We need to see Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, in each other, and in the good that we do as a parish community for the community around us all.

From the Pastor’s Desk:

The Easter and Triduum celebrations continued to grow and seem to have added more visitors to the pews. This is all great, but we need to “keep inviting” the friends, grandchildren, and family. It was really nice to see the younger kids, and the younger adults. The number of little ones and 20-40 year olds was really noticed! Thank you all who actively invited, brought and welcomed all of our family and friends over the past few weeks. That is great evangelization!

“CHRIST is risen!”
