From the corner office for May 12, 2024

From the Corner Office is Father Mike’s weekly bulletin column.

The Easter Season continues … NO! The Easter Season is coming to its end. Yes, our Orthodox friends have just celebrated the Easter resurrection. We are looking this week to the Feast of the Ascension as Jesus ascends to God’s right hand. We have the readings in the First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles and in the Second Reading from St. Paul. The Gospel of St. Mark covers the event of Jesus being taken up into heaven. Here is the line though… “Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature…’” We are told by Jesus to proclaim the gospel, so are we?

Let’s start with that one about, Love your neighbor…

Fr. Mike

From the Pastor’s Desk:

This week I need to be selfish and humbly use this “Thank You!” for all of the help that you have given me in dealing with this knee surgery. The staff and volunteers have all been wonderful in stepping-up in their work and help. The many cards that you’ve all sent, thank you! I will use this space to make the “general thank you and my appreciation” for all of your help.

(FYI, The rehab is going well, the pain is very tough, and I’m hoping to be back soon.)
