Pleass contact athletics at athletics@stmparish.net with any concerns.
Please note, we are only permitted to take registrations for athletes in our parish/school. If you belong to another parish/school, you MUST register with them first. Your AD will contact our program about moving players into our program.
Coaches Needed
In order to be able to field as many teams as possible, we need coaches. If you, a spouse or relative is interesting in coaching, please send an email to athletics@stmparish.net.
Coaches must obtain a CYO Coaching Credential, pass a criminal background check and other requirements for volunteering with children as required by the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PLAY?
As registrations begin, we can ONLY take registrations from parishioners and students from St. Thomas More Parish, PSR and Day School. Athletes from neighboring parishes MUST first register with their parish (see note below about rostering)
NEW THIS YEAR!!!
CYO allows, when a roster is in need of players, for any athlete (regardless of if they are members of a parish or attend a school) to play when they live within the geographical boundaries of our parish. This new feature is ONLY permitted when a program does not have sufficient numbers to meet a minimum roster number. If you know of interested families in our community, please have them send an email to athletics@stmparish.net.
CAN MY CHILD PLAY BASKETBALL AND CHEER?
While we can't definitely answer this question until rosters and schedules are released, it may be possible to play basketball and cheer.
HOW ROSTERING WORKS
Once registrations close, we begin building rosters to meet the minimum roster levels from CYO. We can and will, if needed, combine grade levels (generally from the older grades down) and begin to match rosters with a coach to create as many teams as possible. There is no guarantee that we will field a team at any given grade-level until registration is complete.
In addition, neighboring programs will begin contacting us as they have space or need a place for their athletes. The main objective of this process is to get as many athletes playing CYO sports as possible, even if that means combining grades or with other parishes.
