From the corner office for Oct. 24, 2021

From the Corner Office is Father Mike's weekly bulletin column.

BE BOLD AND SEE! Did you ever have an idea or want something so badly, that you needed to be very, very persistent? Maybe even other people kept saying to you, “You’re crazy, it will never happen…” It is times like this when we need to be BOLD and (maybe, even) a bit crazy.

That is exactly what Bartimaeus is showing us. If we want to see, or simply get something done, we need to be BOLD! Jesus tells him, your faith has saved you. This faith is what we so often need to help us to see. How often we simply want “to see” or just better understand things better. We are called to have faith and be bold.

Noooow…, how about that those Israelites returning from exile in the Book of Jeremiah? The prophets speaks of “everyone” including all of the blind, lame, and mothers and those with child. Including all of them! Come back and see! This is, I think, something that we can have faith and ask that all of those we are inviting back to the pews, “come back and see!” BE BOLD! Let’s continue to have faith, and help those who do not see to see with the eyes of their hearts.

Fr. Mike

75th Anniversary thoughts:

The 75th Anniversary Year continues and things are taking a breather as we move into the change of the seasons. With the pause I think it is important for us to take time to thank the Parish Pastoral Council, the 75th Anniversary committees and all of the volunteers for all the hard work that they have done for us all these past few months.

The Anniversary Maintenance Boost will continue for the balance of the year into the end of March. The donations from the boost has helped us to make some of the very much needed improvements around the campus. We will be looking for other fundraising opportunities to help out the school and Utopia Hall corners of the campus.

Again, thank you to all committees, volunteers, and each of you for the nice events we have been able to have the past few month. We’ll be looking forward to the announcements for the next few months!
