From the Corner Office is Father Mike's weekly bulletin column.
This second half of the Lenten season brings us not only into the third week of the scrutinies, but also into deeper and (even) more direct readings on Jesus as the Messiah, the savior of the world!
The First Reading mentions twice about “opening the graves…” which is very interesting when you have in the reading from the Gospel of St. John of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. Out of the tomb Jesus brings him out! St. Paul, then also tells the Romans (and all of us) that this same spirit dwells in all of us. This should give all of us the hope to not only push through the second half of Lent, but also further beyond! The Responsorial Psalm sums it all up clearly as it signs, “With the Lord there is mercy and fullness of redemption.” Our own redemption, into eternal life with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Mary and all the saints!

From the Pastor’s Desk:
This is a special thank you to the family who donated the beautiful Mary statue and the volunteers who helped install it in the area near the west side of the church. It will be a nice addition to the garden on this side of the church and something that allows for another “drive-up prayer spot". This will be the third drive-up prayer spot for the campus, so thank you to all.
The Holy Week and Easter Triduum plans are being finalized for us. There will be more than enough help to make these final days of Lent prayer-filled, so please join us by prioritizing time in your schedule to include praying together as a family of faith here at St. Thomas More!
