From the Corner Office is Father Mike’s weekly bulletin column.
This week we are here in the Eleventh Sunday of Ordinary Time. You might ask, where did all the other weeks of ordinary time go to? Well, they were still counted, but there were a number of solemnities celebrated each week since Pentecost. Now we are moving into the heart of the summer ordinary time season.
The First Reading from the Book of Exodus and the Responsorial Psalm tell of us being a chosen nation and “…the sheep of his flock.” We are all called. St. Paul tells us that Christ died for us and that we are (in fact) saved. These passages set us up well for the “sending out” to spread the message of Jesus – “… for the harvest.” That is all of us here at St. Thomas More, we are the ones to be sent out to help others and spread the message of Jesus Christ! This week, let’s look to how we might help one other person.

From the Pastor’s Desk:
Happy Father’s Day to all of our fathers, God-fathers, uncles, single moms (acting as fathers…) and more, this week! Often I hear of the hurt and challenges of our fathers growing up or even not having a father figure as we were growing up. This is why it is so very important that we come together as a faith-filled-family to support each other, to help each other, and to be leaders within our community. St. Joseph would be a good one to pray with and to this week to help with any pains that still need to be worked through, or for that simple “fatherly smirk and smile”. Thanks to our community leaders here at St. Thomas More – Happy Father’s Day!
