From the corner office for March 3, 2024

From the Corner Office is Father Mike’s weekly bulletin column.

The next three weeks we have the time of the season for the “Scrutiny’s” as part of the RCIA program. The readings will be from the Cycle A, while the Sunday liturgies will be from Cycle B, our regular cycle for this year. The unique look at both cycles of readings deal to a degree with the covenant of God and us. The Cycle B reading dive into the Law of Moses (the Ten Commandments), the law of the Lord, what St. Paul shows as the crucified Christ as a challenge to some people, and then Jesus in the temple. Seeing the passion of Jesus for the sacredness of the temple, should cause us to question for ourselves – “How sacred do I see our church?” Do we realize that Jesus is present in the Most Holy Eucharist, in how we act, dress, and treat others when we come to this church? Live out the passion that Jesus shows towards the sacred space of our church. We should be acting with reverence, dressing the part, and treating others – all as we are in the Holy Presence of God.

From the Pastor’s Desk:

The movement of the scrutiny’s this week lend us to thinking and thanking those who are all involved, not only with the RCIA program, but all of our educational programs – the PSR, the day school, our occasional talks, and even our booklets and resources that we share all year. The various talks, classes, and resources would not be possible without the financial help of the donors and benefactors who donate to the educational programs. Thank you to you all for your support!
